Description: This course will be an introduction to to the fields of combinatorial and geometric group theory. These areas of active research currently constitute the mainstream in the group theory. They have connections to and applications in other areas of mathematics, such as topology, dynamics, analysis, and cryptography. We plan to cover the following topics:

Prerequisites: Algebra I, suggested: Topology I

Grading: Will be based on the presentation at the end of the course.
