Description: This course will introduce the area of groups generated by automata that lies at the intersection of geometric and combinatorial group theory, with connections to topology, dynamics, analysis, and computer science.
The tentative content is as follows:

Prerequisites: Algebra I, suggested: Topology I

Grading: Will be based on the presentation at the end of the course.
